CREC Meetings & Fellowship

Ladies' Fellowship

Every month during the school year, the women of Christ Reformed Evangelical Church meet for prayer, study and fellowship, to encourage and build one another up. This meeting usually works through a book that challenges and informs the calling of women to imitate Christ. Meetings times vary, but generally are held on the second Saturday of the month, 9-10am in one of the ladies’ homes. (see Calendar for exact dates and locations).

Men's Meeting

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:25, 29 ESV)

The monthly Men’s Forum of Christ Reformed Evangelical Church is intended to be a time of masculine Christian conversation, meant to edify our men and foster like-mindedness and a shared vision, in order to further our mission.

This means that as we meet, this is what we desire:

Masculine
We want this particular event to be masculine, that is, marked by the virtues and characteristics that God has designed men to express in a unique and peculiar way, summarized by the words sacrificial strength.

Christian
We want our discussions to be distinctly Christian in form and content. Because Christ is Lord over all, this means that in principle, no topic is off limits. However, we don’t want to say things that any non-Christian could say. We want Jesus to matter to our conversation.

Conversation
This means that the Men’s Forum is not a teaching time, an accountability group, a Bible Study, a HOH meeting, or a free-for-all. We want everyone to participate in a lightly structured, lightly guided conversation, where each voice matters.

Edification
The goal of our conversations is edification, the building up of the men of the church. We want our understanding deepened, our eyes opened, the gaps in our knowledge filled, our awareness of the world increased, and our ability to shepherd our families strengthened.

Like-Mindedness
We want our words to lead towards unity. We desire that as we grow in understanding God, the world, and each other that we will be renewing our minds. We have the mind of Christ, and our conversations should be constantly revealing how deep that reality runs.

Shared Vision
As we become more and more like-minded, we expect to see an emerging and sharpening vision of how to live and move and have our being in the world. We don’t want a top-down uniformity, but a Trinitarian unity-in-diversity.

Mission
The mission is to announce to the world that Jesus is King, and to live our lives in such a way as to show them how good a King He is. How can our discussions serve that end? Let’s talk about it.

The Men’s Forum usually meets on the first Friday of every month at 8pm.
(see Calendar for exact dates)

Households Meetings

Households Meetings take place quarterly, usually following worship on Sundays. Here we discuss business and mission, informing and unifying the body as we serve together in his Church. Membership is reckoned by household at Christ Reformed Evangelical Church, and all adult members are welcome at this meeting.

CREC Moms' Group

The mothers in our Church meet monthly at the Atsinger home. Our time together will build our family bonds within the church and is open to any guests. We shall eat together, pray together and learn from one another, taking especial care to provide a forum for the more experienced among us to share. Our focus is that outlined in Titus 2:4 as we strive to honor the word of God and our relationship with Jesus through loving our husbands and our children better. A special program for preschoolers on site is arranged so that our mothers with little ones have the opportunity to fellowship without distraction. Preschoolers will enjoy a program designed to help them become more familiar with the Bible. They will learn Bible stories, verses and songs and exercise their minds and bodies through structured play

CREC Moms typically meet on the first Thursday of the month but see Calendar for exact dates and locations.
